❓ Questions I'm curious about

The engine room of everything.

Every discovery starts as a question. Here are mine — the open ones I'm still chasing, and the ones where I've found an answer (for now).

Still wondering

open question

What would a piano sound like on Mars?

Thin air = much quieter and slightly different sound. Testing this someday!

How does the Starship booster get caught by chopsticks without breaking?

open question

If Voyager 1 keeps going forever, will anyone ever find the Golden Record?

Could a robot learn to build another robot?

Found an answer

Why can't planes just fly straight up into space if they go fast enough?

Wings need air to push against — space has almost none. That's why rockets carry their own oxygen.

How do air traffic controllers keep thousands of planes from bumping into each other?

Invisible sky highways called airways, with strict spacing rules — plus radar and transponders.

Why do runways at some airports cross each other instead of being parallel?

Usually because of wind directions or because the airport ran out of land — like Mumbai.

Why is the Moon's south pole so hard to land on?

The Sun sits low on the horizon, so shadows are long and the light plays tricks on landing cameras.

Why are aircraft windows round and not square?

Sharp corners collect stress and can crack — early jets taught us this the hard way.

Why does Bengaluru airport have two runways with the same numbers as Heathrow?

Both point east–west (09/27) because of the winds — runway numbers are just compass directions.
